Reducing the Magazine Capacity on a 22 Rimfire TO 10 ROUNDS (Prohibited / Illegal to Legal Modification)
If your 22 rimfire rifle magazine holds more than 10 rounds the opportunity to have the magazine legally modified to 10 rounds has passed.
You MUST surrender your firearm into your local police station asap as you are in possession of a prohibited firearm (assuming you dont have a prohibited endorsed firearms licence).
There are 2 exceptions though:
1. Up until 20th Dec 2019, individual firearms owners were allowed to "permanently" reduce the magazine capacity of their own 22 rifle magazine to hold the legal amount of 10 rounds. If this "home job" modification was botched and the firearm no longer cycles then you can bring your botched firearm into us and we will fix your feeding problem $300 incl GST.
2. If you can get in writing from Police (this may require esculation to your local MP) that we can legally modify your prohibited firearm, bring the letter with you and we will confirm with police that we can, indeed do the modification, cost $300 incl GST.
DO NOT BRING YOUR FIREARM INTO US UNMODIFIED AND WORKING WHILST HOLDING MORE THAN 10 (UNLESS YOU HAVE THE POLICE LETTER), WE CANNOT HELP YOU, YOU WILL BE DIRECTED TO HAND IN YOUR PROHIBITED FIREARM TO YOUR NEAREST POLICE STATION.
